Wargs were wolf-like creatures of Sauron's making that inhabited the plains and forests surrounding the Misty Mountains. Used as mounts by some packs of Goblins, Wargs were among the most ferocious predators in all of Middle-earth.
Once the top of the food chain in Mordor as well, Wargs were rivalled only by Lions until they were both eventually driven off by the fearsome Caragors.
- Wargs do not appear in the games, but are mentioned in entries of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War in refference to Caragors or Goblins.
- The Caragors are often confused with Wargs due to the latter's much more common appearance in Middle-earth media.
