The Third Age, also known as the Age of Arda, is an era in Middle-earth which lasted for 3021 years. It came after the Second Age and ended with the Fourth Age.
The Era started with the first defeat of the Dark Lord Sauron and ended with the departure of Gandalf, Galadriel, Elrond, Bilbo and Frodo to the Undying Lands after Sauron's final demise.
The latter part of this age is the setting of Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle Earth: Shadow of War.
