The Dark Monument is a Hirgon storyline quest in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. It is the final quest to directly involve Hirgon and his Outcasts, and the penultimate quest before the story moves to Núrn.
Description[]
As Hirgon calls to his men to mobilize towards the monument, Talion walks beside the cart, before unsheathing Urfael as Uruk soldiers pour in to defend the monument. Talion fights off wave after wave, until archers light the cart on fire, forcing Talion to take out the remaining archers, then push the cart to the base of the monument before it explodes. As the cart erupts, taking out the statue, the Outcasts retreat. As they gaze at their work, Talion grimly states that the doom of the Outcasts has been sealed. Hirgon counters by saying he has earned their freedom. Talion wonders if that is what he has told them, beside the truth, and leaves the scene...
Tips[]
- Upgrading Elf-shot capacity and perhaps focus will prove to be helpful.
- If not already acquired, the Shadow Strike ability, and by extension Lethal Shadow Strike, is great way here to change elevation and kill far away archers.
- Be sure to focus on pushing the cart! Let Hirgon's men fight for you, and focus on pushing the cart to the objective marker.
